Rebecca Applegate was raised in the nearby city of La Cañada Flintridge; she has dedicated the last sixteen years to the support, health, development, and education of the hundreds of children that have been in her care.
At the young age of seventeen, Rebecca was approached by a local Montessori school where she began her first teaching position working with children between the ages of 2 and 6. In just a few short years, she earned the title 'Lead Teacher' and successfully ran her preschool classroom; Rebecca remained in this position for five years before pursuing her dream of opening Whiting Woods Montessori.
Rebecca attended UCLA where she received her Certificate in Early Childhood Education with a 4.0GPA; she is also internationally recognized as a proficient Montessori educator for ages 0-6, thanks to the North American Montessori Center. In October of 2022, she will receive her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education Administration and will move forward in achieving a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with a focus on Montessori Education.
Rebecca and her husband have built a loving, safe, and inspiring environment while upholding positive parenting strategies with their two young daughters.
With her boundless experience and extensive education, Rebecca has tremendous confidence that her life's dream of educating children using the Montessori Method will continue to flourish, and she looks forward to many years of Whiting Woods Montessori.
